Routeware, a company that provides AI-powered solutions for waste and environmental services, has acquired PermiServ, a UK-based company focused on garden waste permit management for local authorities. to give UK local authorities access to AI-driven tools.

The deal aims to give UK local authorities access to AI-driven tools as the combined offering gives local authorities a more connected operating model, one that links resident engagement, permitting, routing in-cab systems, compliance workflows and service optimisation into a single platform.

Routeware, which is headquartered in Austin, Texas, currently works with over 100 UK local authorities, while PermiServ works with councils across the UK to manage subscription-based garden waste services. It provides end-to-end permit administration, fulfilment logistics and resident communications.
