Cherubic closes sixth fund at $68.88mn, taking assets past $500mn
Cherubic Ventures has closed its sixth fund at USD 68.88mn, taking assets under management across its six funds beyond USD 500mn. Fund VI keeps the firm’s early-stage focus, backing AI-native companies across infrastructure, developer tools, enterprise software, healthcare, physical AI and robotics.
Holdings include Sudo AI, a robotics startup valued at nearly USD 2bn two years after its founding, whose sudo R1 system is trained in virtual simulation and can handle objects it has not previously encountered without real-world manipulation data. Cherubic was its earliest institutional investor. The firm also backed Entire, the developer platform founded by former GitHub CEO Thomas Dohmke, which raised USD 60mn this year. Other investments include patent technology platform Patlytics and healthcare companies Max AI, Generation Lab and therapiAI.
Founded in 2015 by Matt Cheng, Cherubic runs on the solo GP model and has invested in more than 200 companies, with early bets including Hims & Hers, Flexport, Calm, Paidy, 91APP and Astranis. It has been the earliest institutional investor in dozens that went on to become unicorns, among them Paidy, acquired by PayPal for USD 2.7bn.
