Clear Robotics raises $1.75mn pre-Series A to expand autonomous vessel fleet

Clear Robotics, an Indian maritime technology company operating a fleet of all-electric autonomous vessels, has closed a USD 1.75mn pre-Series A round led by Shipsfocus Ventures, with follow-on investment from Katapult Ocean, SGInnovate, M7 Holdings and MGS Ventures.

Over the past year, the company has expanded into what it calls keystone markets, comprising Singapore, Malaysia and the Philippines and it will use the capital to fund the development of larger unmanned vessels, R&D into automated port surveying, scaling of the company’s commercial retrofit technology, engineering team expansion and geographic growth into Southeast Asia, India and the Middle East.

Founded in 2020, Clear Robotics builds AI-enabled unmanned surface vessels for maritime infrastructure applications including pollution recovery and marine surveillance. The company currently operates 26 vessels across markets including Singapore, Malaysia and the Philippines.
