Find out moreEmergent, an AI software creation platform with headquarters in San Francisco and Bangalore, has raised USD 130mn in Series C funding at a USD 1.5bn valuation. Creaegis anchored the round, with MNI Ventures – Claypond Capital and Sentinel Global as co-lead investors and participation from Khosla Ventures, SoftBank Vision Fund 2, Lightspeed and Y Combinator.
The valuation marks a fivefold increase in four months and makes the company a unicorn within a year of its public launch. Total funding now stands at USD 230mn.
Emergent lets founders, small business owners and other non-technical users build full-stack, production-ready web and mobile applications through autonomous AI agents. Software created on the platform ranges from CRMs, ERPs and marketplaces to internal tools, customer-facing products and operational systems. More than 12mn applications have been built since launch, and 70% of users have no prior coding experience.
The company is addressing a key issue, access to engineering talent, which it sees as one of the biggest barriers in technology creation. While businesses increasingly need custom software to operate and scale, traditional development remains expensive, time-intensive and dependent on specialized skills.
Adoption has been strongest in the United States and Europe, with the platform expanding in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Australia and South America. Emergent aims to move software development closer to the people who understand the problem, the business and the market, enabling non-technical builders to create custom software faster.
