  • Email security company AegisAI raises $36mn Series A round
    AegisAI has raised USD 36mn for its Series A round led by Battery Ventures and supported by existing investors Accel and Foundation Capital. This raise brings the company’s total funding to USD 49mn – less than a year after it emerged from stealth. The email security company, which is building its own LLMs to defend the inbox, will use the funding to scale its fleet of autonomous defense agents, accelerate general availability of Vanguard (its agent that hunts threats beyond the inbox) and expand enterprise go-to-market. AI has enabled a new form of attached known as AI spear phishing. These attacks use LLMs to scan the internet for information about an individual in order to crate highly-targeted personalized ‘lures’ that are designed to trick people into sharing sensitive data, downloading malware of sending money. To respond to this, AegisAI’s technology leverages language models and an orchestrated network of AI agents to analyze and act on email threats in real time, in effect fighting AI attacks with AI.
  • Lux Capital backs SkyPilot’s $20mn push to unify fragmented AI compute
    SkyPilot , an AI compute platform for frontier AI teams, has emerged from stealth with USD 20mn in seed funding, with Lux Capital heading the round alongside Amplify Partners, Coatue Management, Foundation Capital, Race Capital, angel investors and The House Fund. The seed funding will support product development, engineering expansion, go-to-market growth and continued investment in the SkyPilot open source ecosystem. The company’s platform gives AI teams a single control plane to develop, manage, monitor and scale workloads across hyperscalers, neoclouds, Kubernetes clusters and multiple accelerator generations, without changing how those workloads are built or operated.
    SkyPilot offers products that manage AI infrastructure across hyperscalers and neoclouds through a unified control plane for training, reinforcement learning, inference, and production workloads.
  • Meshy’s $400mn Series B round pushes valuation to $1.5bn
    Meshy has completed it’s Series B round following a USD 400mn investment that values the company at $1.5bn.
    According to the company, it is making 3D creation dramatically simpler as it can generate a usable 3D model in about a minute from a single line of text or one image. This means that work, which once took specialized skills, expensive software and weeks ‘now takes about a minute and a dollar.’
    Proceeds from the round will be used primarily for R&D and global market expansion.
    This announcement represents the company’s first publicly-disclosed valuation.
