We lead this week with Global Clean Energy’s acquisition of AI for Natural Disasters, a company that builds artificial intelligence tools for disaster prediction, monitoring and response. The deal expands GCEI’s position in applied AI markets where speed, accuracy and decision support can directly affect public safety, infrastructure protection and response outcomes. It further reflects the company’s strategy to build around practical use cases and is set to benefit from two key products as a result – Terra Vigil, the foundational layer which predicts disaster impacts and ResilientIQ, the operational knowledge layer that is designed to close the knowledge gap so relevant and critical guidance is readily available.
The acquisition is expected to support product launches, market outreach, demonstrations and partner development tied to the AIND platform.
- Cathay Venture and Mitsubishi Logistics back Return Helper’s $4mn Series A
Return Helper, a cross-border e-commerce returns platform, has closed a USD 4mn Series A round completed in Q1 2026. New investors include Cathay Venture, MLC Ventures, the corporate venture arm of Mitsubishi Logistics, Jun Yue Investment and Pegatron Venture Capital, with returning backer Colopl Next also participating. The capital will fund three areas: expanding Return Helper’s presence in Japan through its partnership with Mitsubishi Logistics, building AI agents to automate cross-border returns decisions and growing its recommerce operation, which helps merchants recover revenue from returned inventory.
Founded in Taiwan, Return Helper operates a SaaS returns management platform integrated with Shopify, Amazon, TikTok and eBay, alongside a proprietary warehouse management system and its FlexForward forward logistics sub-brand. The company runs more than 20 overseas warehouses, works with more than 30 carriers, and holds offices across China, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore and Taiwan. It reported revenue growth of over 60% in 2025 and reached profitability in the second half of the year. - Brighton Park leads $47mn Series C in financial data infrastructure provider Daloopa
Daloopa, a provider of structured financial data infrastructure for AI-driven investment workflows, has raised USD 47mn in Series C funding led by Brighton Park Capital, with participation from Squarepoint Capital, Touring Capital and Nexus Venture Partners. The capital will fund platform expansion, headcount growth across engineering, product and go-to-market functions, and the rollout of a Partner API that allows third-party developers to embed Daloopa’s financial data into their own AI applications. Daloopa was founded to address inconsistencies in financial data sourcing that affect both human analysts and AI systems, including misaligned fiscal calendars and non-standardised metric definitions. The company reports that revenue doubled over the past year and that more than 160 financial institutions use the platform. - Heavybit and Seligman back Modiqo’s push to make AI agent workflows reliable in production
Modiqo has raised USD 3mn in pre-seed funding co-led by Heavybit and Seligman Ventures, with participation from Irregular Expressions and angel investors, to launch Rote, a local execution layer designed to make AI agent workflows dependable at scale.
Rote observes AI agent behaviour during successful runs and converts those executions into deterministic, reusable processes. The approach reduces token consumption by eliminating repeated rediscovery cycles and cuts reliance on live inference for tasks where the correct execution path is already established.
Modiqo builds infrastructure for enterprise AI deployment, addressing the gap between one-off agent successes in development and consistent, cost-predictable performance in production. - Balderton leads $30mn Series A in AI agent security platform Geordie
Geordie, a security and governance platform for enterprise AI agents, has raised USD 30mn in a Series A round led by Balderton Capital, with participation from new investor Crosspoint Capital and existing backers General Catalyst and Ten Eleven Ventures. The capital will fund team growth and infrastructure development to support enterprise deployments of Geordie’s platform, which provides real-time inventory, behavioural monitoring and access controls across autonomous agent operations. The company’s Beam runtime remediation suite uses context engineering to constrain agent behaviour without disrupting underlying workflows.
