We lead this week with news that Circuit, an Austin-based company building an AI platform for manufacturing and service organizations, has raised USD 30mn from individual investors. A wave of retirements combined with increased complexity in the ways manufacturing and service teams operates means that institutional knowledge is often in the heads of individuals who have done the work for decades and in scattered documentation and legacy systems. Furthermore, the problem is not solved by general-purpose AI. Circuit’s platform addresses this by connecting directly to ERPs, quoting tools and CRMs, and extracting information from its existing location. Teams can then describe job requirements or field conditions in plain language, and the platform applies proprietary reasoning to interpret configuration logic, compatibility rules and technical dependencies.
