Exciting times for AI applications for comms professionals

Spotlight on comms

We were pleased to read the outcomes of the 5th Annual HarrisX & Ragan Survey of Communications Leaders. The survey sampled a total of 400 individuals, of which 125 were CEOs and 275 communications leaders.
The survey shows the industry is at an inflexion point, covering a changing dynamic between CEOs and senior comms leaders as well as continued influence of AI, our focus area. Below, we have summarized what we believe are most important to those of us who offer AI workflows to comms teams.

AI unlikely to replace seniouir comms roles

Where do they add the most value?

With only 16% of CEOs surveyed stating that AI & tech fluency are the comms skills most valued by them, it is unlikely that the technology will replace senior communications professionals given that the top three skills most valued by CEOs are: strategic thinking (42%), creative problem solving (40%) and employee engagement expertise (24%).

speech writing aside, where else could AI add value?

Deriving the most value going forward

However when it comes to speech writing, 57% of CEOs would prefer a custom-trained AI tool rather than a top-tier comms professional.

Areas in which CEOs believe that AI could add the most comms value if it continues to advance.
